Generating Videos with Veo 3

Google Veo 3 transforms your static images into dynamic video clips with realistic motion.

Requirements

Before generating video, you need:

  • ✅ A generated or uploaded image for the frame
  • ✅ A motion prompt describing the movement
  • ✅ Frame duration set (1-8 seconds)

Generating Your First Video

  1. Select a frame with an existing image
  2. Review the Motion Prompt in the sidebar
  3. Set your desired duration (default: 5 seconds)
  4. Click "Generate Video"
  5. Wait 1-3 minutes for processing

Understanding Motion Prompts

Motion prompts describe what should move and how:

Camera Movement:

  • "Slow dolly forward"
  • "Pan left to right"
  • "Zoom in gradually"
  • "Tracking shot following subject"
  • "Static camera, no movement"

Subject Movement:

  • "The woman turns her head slowly"
  • "Leaves rustle in the wind"
  • "Waves crash on the shore"
  • "Character walks toward camera"

Atmospheric Motion:

  • "Dust particles float in light beams"
  • "Smoke drifts across the scene"
  • "Rain falls steadily"
  • "Clouds move across sky"

Example Motion Prompts

Dialogue scene:

"Subtle camera push in. The character's expression shifts from concern to understanding. Soft breathing motion. Ambient lighting flickers slightly."

Action scene:

"Fast tracking shot. The character sprints through the corridor. Camera shakes slightly. Motion blur on edges."

Establishing shot:

"Slow drone shot rising. City lights twinkle below. Cars move on distant streets. Clouds drift overhead."

Generation Time

Video generation takes longer than images:

  • 5-second clip: ~1-2 minutes
  • 8-second clip: ~2-3 minutes
